Mettler Family Vineyards
Mettler Family started as a winegrowing comapany in 1899 but they produced their first wine in 2001 and it was Cabernet Sauvignon. So from first days, Mettler´s produce a lot of grapes which tey sell to other wineries, because you have to have at least 85% of grapes from region, rest can be bought somewhere else in California, in Lodi for this example. Temperature in Lodi is usually really high so they can grow almost everything they want, so grapes are one of the good comodity. We got huge success with their Old Vines Zinfandel, then Cabernet Sauvignon and for a few winelovers we got their smoky and peppery Petite Sirah. Owner is Larry, father of the family, daughter Kim works as a GM, her husband Jason leads works in the vineyard and brother Adam works as a winemaker. Their wines are so popular here, that group of Czech investors already invested their money to new vineyrads for Mettler´s.
