The 2009 vintage is characterized by a cooler summer and longer ripening of grapes in the vineyard than usual. This year produced wines that are structured with firm and ripe tannins and spicy acidity, which age very well over time. The wine has a ruby color with brick-red reflections. The nose and palate are dominated by dried dark and red berries, blackcurrants, and cranberries, complemented by notes of tobacco leaf, humidor, and graphite. Very long and spicy finish.

The aroma is opulent, full of red berries, primarily cherries and raspberries, followed by hints of cocoa, nuts and tea. The freshness is enhanced by notes of black pepper and cedar. The taste is full and fresh. The contrast between velvety tannins and fresh acidity in the finish perfectly complements the palette of flavours, full of currant sorbet, plum sauce and strawberry jam. Fresh fig and marzipan lend richness and texture, beautifully combining the contrasts of the individual components of this amazing wine. The finish is long-lasting, with predominant notes of Christmas spices, coffee beans, aniseed, a hint of caramel sweetness, fresh blueberries and cinnamon.
