Ad Vivum Cellars
The origins of Ad Vivum Winery date back to 2005 when Chris Phelps began working with grapes on an experimental level from the Sleeping Lady vineyard. In 2007, he decided that the wine from this vineyard could reach world-class quality, so Lary Bettinelli, the owner of the vineyard, agreed to set aside a small part of this vineyard for Chris Phelps, from which he still makes Ad Vivam Cabernet Sauvignon.
Chris studied oenology at U.C.Davis and through internships in Bordeaux, Chateau Petrus, became the founding winemaker of the legendary Dominus winery, where he spent 12 years. Subsequently, he created wines for another legendary winery, Caymus.
