Harlan Estate is clearly one of the world's most prestigious wineries and its wines are among the best that can be tasted in the world of wine.
Founded in 1984, Harlan Vineyards grows wine in the western hills of Oakville, California - in the heart of Napa Valley. The property consists of 240 acres of natural splendor spread over the famed Oakville Bench and ranges in elevation from 225 to 1,225 feet above sea level, with approximately 15% of the vines planted to the classic varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vineyards are variously distributed on steep, well-drained slopes and cover a diverse range of soils, topography and solar aspects. The sparing soils and favourable mesoclimates favour low yields and slow, even ripening. Farming and cultural practices are uncompromising and emphasize proven principles of sustainability and stewardship through thoughtful management and teamwork.
