The 2019 season began with heavy spring rains that lasted nearly twice as long as the annual average, providing ample water for the growing season. The rains delayed vine emergence by 15 days, but this was made up for in an exceptionally sunny August. The harvest began on 10 September and lasted 4 weeks. A very balanced vintage both in terms of work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The wine has a deep ruby colour. Aromas of black plums, blueberries, blackcurrants and dried rose petals dominate the nose. On the palate, the wine is creamy with a velvety texture and ripe tannins. Again, dark berry fruit, cassis, savoury herbs, espresso and cocoa dominate. The wine has very juicy acidity and a very long elegant finish.
