The grapes for Cask 23 2018 come 54% from the FAY vineyard and 46% from the S.L.V. vineyard.It all started in 1974 when the wine from this single wooden barrel, Cask 23, was of phenomenal quality.
The wine combines the best of both vineyards, with elegance and sophistication from the FAY vineyard and structure and fruit from the S.L.V. On the nose and palate, the wine is complex with distinctive notes of blackcurrant, fig, spice, wet gravel and sandalwood. Firm tannins, juicy acidity and an endless finish predispose this wine to longevity. A unique piece for the cellar.
