The grapes for the wine from the Monte Bello vineyard are organically grown and hand-picked. After de-stemming and sorting, the juice is fermented on native yeasts. The wine is trained in 100% new oak barrels, 95% American and 5% French.
On the nose, the wine is intense and complex. Notes of dark berry fruit, tobacco, roasted coffee and blackcurrant leaves dominate. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and concentrated. Notes of dark fruits, blackberries and plums again predominate, accompanied by aromas of noble spices and liquorice. The wine has firm but soft tannins, very attractive acidity and a long elegant finish.
