Cerro Sur, or South Hill, refers to the vineyards nestled in the higher elevations of the Coombsville area, which are dedicated primarily to the Cabernet Franc grape variety. The wine has a deep ruby colour with purple highlights. On the nose the wine is very emotive with aromas of currants, black cherries, sour cherries, dried herbs and anise. The palate is dominated by fresh blackberries along with notes of liquorice and tobacco. The wine is destined to age slowly in bottle thanks to its firm tannins, refreshing acidity and very long finish. A very characterful style of Cabernet Franc.
