The wine is bright ruby in colour with garnet highlights. On the nose it has notes of blackberries, dark chocolate, black cherries and vanilla with accompanying notes of tobacco and violets. A refined, elegant start leads to a broad, elegant mid-palate with silky, fine-grained tannins, notes of black tea, blackberry pie, caramel and cocoa powder with a long, lingering finish. Although already very approachable, the 2019 'Les Pavots' is sure to gain much more layers over the course of five to ten years.
