A pleasing, clean and precise style of Chardonnay. The nose has citrus notes, fresh lemon, green apples, but also nectarines and flowery acacia notes.

The 2019 vintage is very classic in terms of this wine. A very good vintage gave the wine notes of pear, lemon zest, honey and baked toast with undertones of almond, baked apple and brioche. Very nice bubbles along with juicy acidity give a wine with a long attractive finish. The wine is aged for at least 3 years on fine lees.

Chardonnay Brumaire is named after the fog that affects the climate in the vineyards of the Russian River Valley. The rigorous selection of grapes for this Chardonnay is the basis for a complex, structured wine. Gorgeous golden color, with aromas of lime pie and citrus zest, complemented by baking spices. Very juicy acidity leads to a long elegant finish.

One day Dave Phinney went to Florence for a semester, where he fell in love with wine. Upon his return back to California, he worked in the vineyards and at the Robert Mondavi winery. In 1998, his own winery, Orin Swift, named for his father's middle name and his mother's maiden name, saw the light of day. Dave himself says his first wine sucked, the second was better and the rest is history. Frog's Leap Chardonnay is a beautiful proof that even in California, wines full of elegance and attractiveness are produced. Citrus, baked lemon, grapefruit and sweet spice dominate the nose and palate.
