A beautiful Chardonnay, the 2021 Chardonnay One Sixteen reveals a medium gold hue as well as a crisp, vibrant nose of honeyed lemon and orchard fruits intermixed with toasted brioche, honeysuckle, white flowers, and a touch of toasted almonds.

The cold climate of the AVA Monterey gives a Chardonnay that is elegant and intense at the same time. Notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, tangerine and papaya dominate on the nose and palate, complemented by aromas of honeydew melon, spice and minerals. Very attractive acidity leads to a long and juicy aftertaste.

Aromas of ripe lemon, yellow apple, pineapple and toasted oak.

The fruit was harvested at night, which led to slow fermentation in the cold. After harvesting, the grapes were de-stemmed and carefully pressed. The juice was left to settle for 4 days in the cold, after which the clear juice was freed of heavy solids. The wine was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and lightly toasted French oak, with full malolactic fermentation occurring naturally.

Light colour with pale green highlights. On the nose the wine is intense, floral with fruity notes of white peach and citrus.

The wine has a bright, delicate golden colour. On the nose and in the taste we can smell ripe apples, nectarines and sweet citrus fruits, complemented by a subtle spiciness after aging in oak barrels.
