A wine with a fine ruby colour. Red fruits, raspberries and spices, anise and vanilla dominate on the nose and palate. The wine has a medium body, spicy acidity and soft, elegant tannins. Very long finish.

From the outset, this is one powerful, deeply expressive Cabernet with heady black currant, plum, and cedar aromas leading into a big, juicy entry. Layered currant and black cherry flavors are accented by elegant clove notes. Bold, coating tannins support and frame the entire wine, and hints of wet slate add dimension to a dark, brooding finish.

Beautiful, fresh and elegant

The 2012 vintage is characterized by a very stable and ideal growing season, which as a result gave ideally ripe grapes for Opus One. The wine has a ruby colour with brick highlights. On the nose and palate, fresh dark fruits and forest undergrowth dominate, complemented by hints of graphite. The wine has very good structure, fresh acidity and silky tannins leading to a long and rich finish.
