To us, this is one of the best showing what Petite Sirah can offer. Some of the vines in the vineyard are over 100 years old and give small but concentrated flavors.

Beautiful Monte Bello from older vintage

Opaque, saturated ruby in color. Aromas of cassis, fennel, cola, clove-nutmeg spice, toasted oak, wet crushed stone, black tea, and sweet dry chaparral. Palate of ripe cassis, blackberry, and mountain bramble. Lively acid and polished velvety tannins with a smooth, full body and long finish showing limestone mineral and forest floor. 

On the nose, the wine is intense and complex. Notes of dark berry fruit, tobacco, roasted coffee and blackcurrant leaves dominate. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and concentrated.
