At the gateway to Carneros, where cold winds blow in from San Pablo Bay and the sun-drenched slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains provide the ideal terroir for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, stands one of California's most iconic sparkling wine estates: Domaine Carneros. Founded in 1987 as a joint venture between the Champagne house Taittinger and the Kobrand Corporation, it has spent nearly four decades producing wines of exceptional quality in the méthode traditionnelle style — with the same dedication and precision that define the great houses of Champagne.
The Domaine Carneros Brut 2020 is a classic Blanc de Blancs-leaning blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, aged a minimum of 24 months on the lees. In the glass, it shows a pale golden color with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is elegant and complex — fresh green apple, lemon curd, white peach, toasted brioche and a subtle hint of chalk minerality. On the palate the mousse is silky, the acidity bright and precise, the finish long and refined. Tannins are zero.
An outstanding aperitif or companion to oysters, sushi, king crab or lightly creamed seafood risotto. Serve well chilled at 6–8 °C. Can be cellared up to 3–5 years. We are official distributors of Domaine Carneros. Shipped directly from our warehouse in Prague.
